Sphere Consulting Hires Former New York Times Reporter, Edward Wyatt

Sphere Consulting LLC (Sphere) is pleased to announce the addition of former regulatory policy journalist Edward Wyatt as Senior Vice President in our Washington, D.C office. Ed joins Sphere’s expanding public policy research and intelligence practice after nearly two decades with the New York Times covering financial services, telecom, technology policy, and education.

“Ed brings an unparalleled level of expertise to our clients through his ability to navigate the complicated world of Washington’s regulatory agencies and communicate complex policy in a very straightforward way, as he did for years for the Times’ readers,” said Jim Courtovich, Founder and Managing Partner of Sphere.

In nearly twenty years with the New York Times, Ed published more than 2,000 articles, most recently focusing on technology matters at the FCC and FTC, and as a major contributor to the BITs Blog – the business of technology – writing principally about telecoms and net neutrality issues. He also covered the SEC, closely reporting on market trends such as the rise of mutual funds and the major inflows to that business beginning in the mid 1990s, as well as general business trends, the publishing business, entertainment, and politics.

Courtovich added, “We find that as regulatory issues and implementation continue to dominate the policy agenda, it is critical to have the most knowledgeable experts to discern the impact of public policy for our clients and those within the media, Congress and the Executive branch. Ed is uniquely qualified for this role, and will be leading that effort for Sphere.”
